How to Use a Prop Firm Discount Code Without Losing It at Checkout

A prop firm discount code is only worth something if it actually survives the checkout page. Ten percent off a 249 USD evaluation is 24.90 USD back in your pocket, but a code pasted in the wrong field, applied to an excluded program, or entered on a firm that is not currently selling accounts gives you nothing. This guide walks through where the code goes, what to check before you pay, and the five ways traders most often lose the discount, using the five firms FundedTicker currently tracks as worked examples. Every price and code below was checked on 2026-09-16.

Where the code actually goes

Prop firm coupons work the same way almost everywhere: you pick an evaluation or challenge, go to checkout, and paste the code into the promo code field. The discount is taken directly off the challenge fee, the one-time price you pay to access a simulated trading account. It does not change your profit split, drawdown limits, or any other rule.

Two things matter more than the code itself: the discount must be visible in the order total before you enter payment details, and the code must be eligible for the exact account size and program you selected. In most cases a code applies to every account size and challenge type, but some firms exclude specific programs, so a code that works on one product may silently show nothing on another.

Step by step: applying a code correctly

  1. Choose the program and account size first. Do not enter the code on the product page; go all the way to the checkout summary.
  2. Confirm the firm is currently selling that account. This sounds obvious, but see the YRM Prop example below.
  3. Paste the code exactly as written. Copy and paste rather than retype, so a single wrong character does not void it.
  4. Click "apply" and wait for the total to update. Compare the new total with the list price: a 10% code on 249 USD should show 224.10 USD.
  5. Check whether any other promotion is already applied. If the total already reflects a site-wide sale, adding a code may replace it rather than stack on top.
  6. Only then enter payment details. If the discount disappears at the payment step, stop and contact support before paying.

Five worked examples, checked 2026-09-16

Below are the five firms with codes listed on FundedTicker. All five codes are 10% off with no stated expiry date, as confirmed by FundedTicker on 2026-09-16. Each one shows a different way the checkout can trip you up.

The5ers: know which price you are discounting

The5ers (founded 2016, London) runs 1 Step Growth, 2 Step High Stakes, 3 Step Bootcamp and a Futures program. On 2026-09-16 the 1 Step Growth "Summer Plan" was listed at 249 USD, with a 10% profit target, 6% maximum loss, 3% daily loss and 1:100 leverage. Code 6QK5G takes 10% off, so the Growth evaluation drops from 249 USD to 224.10 USD.

The lesson here is to read the label on the price. "Summer Plan" suggests a promotional price that may change, and third-party comparison sites quote The5ers "from 235 USD", which does not match the 249 USD we saw on the official site. Always discount the number the firm's own checkout shows you today, not a figure from a review site.

Trade The Pool: the cheapest entry is the best test

Trade The Pool is the stocks and ETF prop firm operated by Five Percent Online Ltd., the same company behind The5ers. It offers Flex Evaluation (unlimited time) and Max Evaluation (60 days), with day-trade account sizes from 5K to 200K USD and swing accounts from 2K to 40K USD. The lowest entry fee visible on the site on 2026-09-16 was 97 USD.

Code BOF7BBUJ6W takes 10% off, so a 97 USD evaluation becomes 87.30 USD. If you are new to a firm, the smallest evaluation is the cheapest way to confirm the code works end to end before committing to a larger account.

TradersYard: do not assume promotions stack

TradersYard (Vienna, Austria) offers Instant Funding, 1-Step and 2-Step programs on FX and futures, with simulated capital up to 300,000 USD per account. On 2026-09-16 its homepage was advertising a public 30% discount on accounts above 5K and on instant accounts. That is the firm's own promotion, not FundedTicker's code.

Code RHYRMMQ5CK is 10% off. What you must not do is assume 30% plus 10% equals 40% off. Most prop firms do not allow stacking multiple discount codes; a minority run automatic promotions that do apply on top of a coupon. The only way to know is to apply the code at checkout and read the total. If the 30% sale gives a lower final price than the 10% code, take the sale.

Instant Funding: the price appears after login

Instant Funding (UK, founded 2021) sells no-evaluation Instant accounts alongside One-Phase, Two-Phase, IF Evolve and IF Micro programs, with account sizes from 625 USD to 4,000,000 USD. On 2026-09-16 its prices were not displayed publicly; you see them after creating an account.

Code AFF8704 is 10% off. Because you cannot see the list price on the public site, write down the price shown in your logged-in checkout before you apply the code, then confirm the discounted total is exactly 90% of that number. Without a reference price, you have no way to verify the code did anything.

YRM Prop: check the firm is selling before you look for a code

YRM Prop is a futures prop firm (YRM Prop LLC, US contact number) with a 90/10 profit split and a maximum of three funded simulated accounts. On 2026-09-16 its site stated "New funded accounts are not available for purchase right now."

Code 168193 is 10% off, but at the time of writing there is nothing to apply it to. A code on a firm that has paused sales is a distraction, which is why FundedTicker shows YRM Prop with a warning and lists it last. If you see a firm's checkout disabled, do not hunt for a code; wait for sales to resume or choose another firm.

Five ways traders lose the discount

Stacking a coupon on a sale. As the TradersYard example shows, most firms do not stack codes. Entering a code can even replace a better site-wide promotion. Compare final totals, not percentages.

Applying it to an excluded program. In most cases a code covers every account size and challenge type, but some firms exclude specific programs. If the total does not change after "apply", the program is probably excluded rather than the code being dead.

Paying before the total updates. Never enter card details until the reduced total is on screen; if the page has not updated, the discount has not been applied.

Using a code from an unverified list. Old codes circulate for months after they stop working. FundedTicker only lists codes it has verified directly, with the date each one was checked, and never copies codes from third-party coupon sites.

Forgetting about free retries. Some firms issue a free retry coupon if you fail a challenge while meeting certain conditions. This is separate from the purchase discount; ask customer support before buying a second evaluation at full price.

Is 10% a good deal?

Year-round prop firm codes commonly sit in the 5% to 25% range, while seasonal sales around Black Friday, New Year or firm anniversaries reach 30% to 50%, according to industry coupon listings we reviewed on 2026-09-16. A 10% code with no expiry date is a solid baseline: it is there whenever you are ready to buy, and if a firm runs a deeper seasonal sale, you simply take the sale instead.

Before you pay: the fee is not the whole cost

Reset fees, activation fees, profit-split tiers and how strict the rules are all change what an evaluation really costs over time. FundedTicker's True Cost Calculator puts those inputs side by side so you compare two firms on what you would actually spend, not on the headline discount.

Risk warning: Prop firm evaluations give access to simulated trading accounts, not real capital. Passing an evaluation is not guaranteed, and paying a challenge fee does not guarantee funding or any profit. Trading involves substantial risk of loss. Nothing on this page is financial advice.
